Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are specially formulated blends of natural acids and enzymes designed to exfoliate your skin and stimulate new cell growth and collagen production, resulting in fresher, clearer, brighter skin.

They can be used to even the skin tone and texture; reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; eliminate hyperpigmentation and blemishes, and reduce inflammation and breakouts caused by acne. After a peel, your skin should be hydrated, nourished, smoother and softer.

Lactic acid
If you have sensitive or reactive skin that reddens easily, feels tight or uncomfortable with many products, or has a history of adverse reactions to skincare treatments, lactic acid peels offer a safer, more comfortable option. The larger molecular size and gentler penetration mean less risk of irritation, inflammation, or the burning sensation that some people experience with stronger acids.
This is an efficient exfoliant that targets the base of the skin's epidermis, breaking down the adhesive properties that keep dead skin cells intact. This process promotes cell turnover, revealing a new layer of healthy and vibrant skin.
By smoothing and enhancing texture and tone, lactic acid increases skin elasticity for a more youthful appearance.
In addition, lactic acid serves as a humectant, allowing it to draw moisture into the skin. Dehydrated skin can often appear dull and sallow, but by boosting hydration in the uppermost layers of the skin, lactic acid imparts a plump and rejuvenated appearance.
During winter months when skin is naturally drier due to cold weather, indoor heating, and harsh environmental conditions, lactic acid peels provide exfoliation without compromising the moisture barrier. The hydrating properties actually help counteract winter dryness whilst still delivering the renewal benefits you're seeking.

Mandelic Peel
If you’re looking for your first skin peel, a mandelic peel is a terrific choice This chemical peel is one of the least irritating of all the peels because of its large molecular size. This means it's released into the skin slower than other chemical peels, therefore mandelic acid can even treat very sensitive skin, including super sensitive Rosacea skin types.
The gentle, yet powerful exfoliation mandelic offers enhances your skin's regeneration mechanism, in turn helping to break down and eventually help shed some of those darker skin tones with hyperpigmentation chemical peels. Mandelic acid also helps to reduce inflammation in the skin which is known to stimulate melanin production;

Glycolic Peel
Glycolic acid, which is derived from sugar cane, penetrates deep into the skin and exfoliates dead skin cells. It provides a healthier appearance for your skin by rejuvenating aged skin cells for renewal.

TCA Peel
A TCA peel, or Trichloroacetic Acid Peel, is a medium-strength peel that can be used to treat a variety of skin disorders. A TCA peel can help lighten and even out skin texture and change and correct skin pigmentation. Allow a week for the healing process after a TCA peel because your skin can peel physically.

Pre-Care: Preparing Your Skin
Following these steps ensures your skin is strong and receptive:
• Pause Actives: Discontinue the use of Retin-A, retinols, exfoliating acids (glycolic, salicylic, lactic), and vitamin C serums for 7 to 14 days prior.
• Avoid Hair Removal: Do not wax, tweeze, bleach, or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for at least 7 days before.
• No Tanning: Avoid direct sun exposure, sunbeds, and self-tanning for two weeks before your appointment.
• Delay Other Treatments: Skip any harsh facial treatments (like microneedling, laser, Botox, or fillers) 2 weeks beforehand.
Post-Care: Healing and Protecting
For the first week, your skin barrier is highly sensitive. Treat it with extreme care:
• Avoid touching your face: Try not to touch your face, pick, peel or prod for a few days after the treatment.
• Avoid high temperatures: Avoid saunas, hot tub, prolonged sun exposure or hot exercise classes, as these encourage inflammation and irritate the skin. Avoid strenuous exercise, as this might cause inflammation through increased heat and sweating in the skin. You can return to your regular exercise routine after about 14 days.
• Don’t exfoliate: Your skin just had, probably, the deepest exfoliation it has ever had; it doesn’t need more. Avoid exfoliating for at least 3 to 5 days after a light peel and perhaps a few weeks after a deeper peel. Do not use washcloths or harsh cleansing brushes for at least 7 to 14 days.
• Pause Actives: Wait 7–10 days before reintroducing retinols or acids.
• Avoid chlorine and swimming pools for at least 7 to 10 days

Cleansing and Hydrating
• Cool, Gentle Cleansing: Your skin will most likely be sensitive after treatment, so wash with lukewarm or cool water and a soap-free, mild cleanser. Soap will strip it of its natural oils and may also irritate your more sensitive skin. Gently pat your face dry instead of rubbing.
• Keep It Simple: Stick to minimalist, hydrating products. Moisturise, applying a good quality moisturiser regularly will aid recovery. Comfort Zone products are free from harsh chemicals and irritants; Ingredients from like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and soothing serums will help repair the compromised skin barrier. Avoid fragrant or alcohol-heavy lotions.
Sun Protection
• Wear SPF Daily: Your skin will be highly photosensitive, so using a sunscreen is essential. Use a broad-spectrum, physical mineral sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Some high chemical based spf’s could irritate.
• Reapply: Reapply your SPF every two hours if you are outdoors.

What To Expect After A Chemical Peel
Today’s peels contain multiple exfoliating, natural enzymes and acids that leave skin glowing rather than peeling or flaking.

Immediate results: Professional grade, advanced peel blends exfoliate the top layers of the skin at a microscopic level. This action tightens the skin, unblocks clogged pores and improves fine lines. Skin is left feeling smoother and softer.
Usually no peeling, flaking or irritation: Most clients do not experience peeling or flaking skin after treatment.
No downtime: Our Comfort zone peels will not trigger effects that cause the need to hide until they’re gone. You are be able to continue life as usual.
A slight increase in sensitivity: Your skin will likely feel sensitive for a few days after the treatment. This is when you can aid recovery following our aftercare advice.

A general timeline for deeper TCA chemical peel process day by day:

In the first 1 or 2 days, you may see some mild swelling/irritation or begin to notice dryness.
In 2 or 3 days after the treatment, your skin may begin to peel, and any hyperpigmentation or blemishes may be more noticeable.
In 5 to 7 days, any side effects will diminish, and your skin will return to normal.
In 7 to 14 days, you’ll see the healthy new skin formed but may notice some redness or skin that is darker or lighter for up to a month.
